Chitwan National Park

A wild one-horned Rhino - an amazing sight we were so lucky to see

He looked much bigger face to face......

We spent 4 days in Chitwan national park between Pokhara and Kathmandu, where we saw all manor of wildlife, in particular lots of elephants. They are pretty amazing creatures, massive but incredibility graceful. They have a real bond with their driver (mahout) but left to their own devises, will pretty much destroy and uproot any vegetation that they pass by. Their trunks are immensely strong but have enough dexterity to pick up dropped mobile phones if some stupid tourist drops it. The owning a baby elephant idea I had has gone out of the window.
